SMS recognizing the importance of addressing issues relating to gender biasness and women’s right had introduced the concept of family counselling in its area.
To improve quality of life family counseling was essential deciding family conflicts, gender biasness and establishing right of women in the family vis-à-vis society.

All members in the allied system have extended cooperation to SMS.
Case Studies Safeda bibi of Hanskhali block,was tortured by her husband of 16 years for reasons unknown to her. Helplessly she sought help from SMS. SMS intervened and counseled her husband Arfat Sheikh repented and reconciled.
Similarly Barnali Paike lodged complain against her husband Tapas Paike of Baraberia, Nadia for torturing her. SMS intervened and found utter poverty as the reason. SMS after several counseling and realistic help in work brought peace for both and now they are settled happily. SMS still keeps its vigilance through its effective SHG network.
Promila devi is not that lucky. Her disputed PWD owned land raised serious conflict of interest between her sons and neighbour Habukant Biswas over it. SMS intervened but repeated meetings could not bring solution. So SMS referred the case to court considering the gravity of the matter to avoid any violence.
