SMS has inculcated different values in the women in the community making them aware of their rights. The women’s day celebration holds a special meaning to the women in the region today. To ensure greater participation of women in the celebration and spreading the message against gender-biasness, in 2009 SMS had encouraged celebration programs on the women’s day (March, 8th) at 40 points in the 4 districts it works across.
